MY STORY

My name is Tim

I am a photographer, storyteller, and lifelong creative based in Springfield, Ohio. I’m glad you’re here — take a look around, and if something speaks to you, I’d love to see what we can create — together.

I picked up my first camera when I was 13 years old, long before I understood words like “art” or “storytelling.” I just knew something in me lit up every time I froze a moment, and that feeling never really went away. Seventeen years later, the camera has become one of the few things in my life that has stayed constant — through every phase, every job, every chapter.

I grew up in Springfield, Ohio. The first place I ever took photos was Ferncliff Cemetery. I didn’t think of it as anything meaningful back then — I just loved horror movies, shadows, and moody atmospheres. But looking back, it makes sense. I’ve always been drawn to scenes that feel honest and emotional, even if they lean darker. That sensibility stayed with me. Even today, whether I’m photographing weddings, families, portraits, or everyday moments, there’s often a soft, moody undertone in my images — not because everything needs to feel dramatic, but because I believe there’s beauty in all sides of life. The bright, the dark, and everything in between.

For the last six years, I’ve worked closely with Chris Powell and the team at Thousand Oaks Tattoos, helping shape the shop’s visual identity through photos, video, branding, and content. In that time, I’ve learned how much visuals matter — how they communicate who someone is long before they ever speak. I’ve documented hundreds of projects and built a thoughtful, intentional approach to creating work that actually means something.

About three years ago, I began selling my own fine art photography. What started as a few prints turned into large-format pieces, a growing online shop, and a deeper interest in creating imagery that people want to live with. Under the SAULxGOOD name, I’ve built websites, developed brand visions, helped creatives refine their identity, and continued expanding my own style.

Outside of the work itself, my life is shaped by the people and things I love. My girlfriend, Tehya Maxwell, is a tattoo artist at Thousand Oaks and a huge part of my world. Our home is filled with creativity — and also with our dog Midna and our cats Highway and Ganon. If you know Zelda, you already know where those names came from. I’ve always loved games like Zelda, Kingdom Hearts, Skyrim, and a lot of medieval fantasy. I didn’t get to go to the Ohio Ren Faire as a kid, but going now with Tehya and my friends has become one of those traditions that genuinely fills my life with joy. Those same friends are people I game with, play D&D with, and really trust — they’ve always had my back, and a lot of who I am creatively comes from the community around me.

I also write and play music — mostly metal, but I enjoy creating in a lot of different styles. Whether it’s photography or music, I’ve always been drawn to mediums that let you express something real without needing the perfect words for it.

Through all of these experiences, one thing has stayed true: people want images that feel like them. Not overly posed. Not forced. Just honest. My job is to guide you into that — to make the process comfortable, natural, and maybe even fun, even if you’ve never stepped in front of a camera before.

At the heart of everything I do is the belief that photography should feel personal. It should feel intentional. It should feel like a reflection of who you are — not just a moment that looked nice, but a moment that felt true.

So if something here speaks to you, or if you’re looking for imagery that fits your story, I’d love to help you create it.

Let’s make something meaningful, together.
